Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs), Also Known As Milling, Relies On Rotary Cutters To Remove Metal From a Work Piece, Which Employs a Spindle With a Vertical Orientation. CNC milling is a specific form of computer numerical controlled (CNC) machining in which the milling movements are programmed into a computer or CAD system before the milling takes place. In addition, Ancillary equipment is also available to increase the flexibility and capability of these machines, including spindle speeders, angle heads, tool- and part-probes, quick-change work holding devices, and rotary indexers to enable 4th axis machining work.
